PROCEDURE FOR WEBCOM INTERNET DIAL-UP CONNECTION
Windows
2000
1. Click on Start button;
select Settings and then Network and Dial-up Connections.
2. Double click on Make New Connection icon.
3. A welcome screen appears, click Next.
4. The Network Connection Type window appears. Select Dial-up
to the Internet and then
click Next.
5. The Welcome to the Internet Connection Wizard appears.
Select I want to set up
Internet
connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area
network
(LAN).
6. Now select I connect through a phone line and a modem and
then click Next.
7. Now you will be asked for information about the location
you are dialing. Leave the Area
code box
empty. Type 2552020 in the Telephone number
box and make sure that Use
area code and dialing rules is not
checked and then click Next.
8. Now enter your username (your Webcom telephone
number) and your password into
the User name and
Password boxes respectively.
9. Now type Webcom in the Connection name
box and click Next.
10. You will then be asked if you want to set up an email account,
select No and click Next.
11. The last window appears, select checkbox besides To
connect to the Internet…
12. A new connection (Webcom) will now appear
inside the Network and Dial-up connections
window.
Right Click on it and create short cut on the Desktop.
13. Double click on Webcom icon on the desktop and click Dial
button to connect. Once it
connects you can use the web or check your mail.
Windows
XP
1. Click on Start button;
select Settings and then Network Connections.
2. Double click on Create New Connection
icon.
3 If you have never specified a dial-up connection in
Windows XP a Location information
window will
appear, enter your country and area code. Click OK to continue, if you do
not
see this window skip to Step 4.
4. The Network Connection window appears. Click Next.
5. The New Connection Wizard appears. Click next to proceed.
6. Now select Connect to the Internet and
then click Next.
7. A new window will open select Set up my connection
manually and click Next
8. Another window will appear, click on Connect using
a dial-up modem and click Next
9. Now type Webcom in the Connection name
box and click Next.
10. Type 2552020 in the Telephone
number box and then click Next.
11. Now enter your username (your Webcom telephone number)
and your password into
the User
name and Password boxes respectively.
12. The last window appears, select checkbox Add a shortcut
to this connection to my
desktop
and then click Finish
13. Double click on Webcom icon on the
desktop and click Dial
button to connect.
Once it connects you can use the web or check
your mail.
Windows 98
1
On your desktop select the icon for My Computer
2 Double click on Dial-up Networking.
3 Double click on the icon Make New
Connection. This will initialize the New Connection
Wizard.
4 In the connection name type Webcom. Click
on Next.
5 Type 2552020 or 2552577 in the Telephone
number box and make sure that “Use area
code and dialing rules” is not checked (note that Windows 98 adds this
by default and
you need to uncheck it) and then click Next and
then on finish
6 You will be directed back to the Dial-up
Networking window. Now you will see an icon
for
Webcom
7 With the right button on your mouse click
on Webcom and then click on Properties.
Make
sure you have the correct phone number in Telephone
Number box i.e. 2552020 or
2552577
8. Double click on the Webcom icon to
connect to the Internet.
9. If you want to create a short cut for Webcom
icon on your desktop, right go back to
Dial-up
Networking window. Right Click on it and create short cut on the
Desktop.
